DSC Dredge—The Early Years
The DSC Dredge story actually began decades before the company’s inception. Thomas (Tommy) J. Wetta III developed a love for the dredging business during his time living and working on the dredge Orleans as an employee of the Standard Dredging Corporation in 1955. In 1971, Tommy founded Kenner Marine with a friend, and began building dredges. Dredging Supply Co., Inc., was founded in 1989 by Tommy’s friend Bob Dagley. With Tommy’s sons, William (Bill) J. Wetta II and Robert (Bob) B. Wetta, growing up in the family business, it was a natural progression that in 1994, Tommy, Bill and Bob would purchase Dredging Supply Co.
Success Leads To Growth
DSC’s focus on customization and quality attributed to the company’s growth and success in the following decades. In 2010 the corporation consolidated its subsidiaries, and DSC Dredge, LLC (DSC), was born. The reorganization brought together Dredging Supply Company and dredge manufacturers W&S and Best Equipment to gain maximum efficiencies in the day-to-day operations and administration of all of the facilities.
Today DSC is a global leader in the dredge manufacturing industry, engineering superior customized dredging solutions to meet specific application needs, while continuing to exceed customer expectations for dredge customers worldwide.
Bob Wetta serves as the President and CEO of the corporation. Bill Wetta, P.E., serves as VP of Product Development, keeping DSC at the forefront of the latest dredging and engineering trends for the business. Rounding out the executive team is Kevin Dolan as VP and CFO and Christina Bolling as VP and CAO. As a family-owned business, DSC considers all of its team members to be part of the DSC family, and a large portion of the team has been with the company for over a decade.
